Bo’s research spans both theoretical and empirical aspects of international trade. In particular, his work centres on:
- applying quantitative trade models to assess trade agreements and policy interventions;
- analysing the causal impact of trade policies, such as tariffs, policy uncertainty, trade agreements, and FDI deregulation, on firm performance, including trade, innovation, and participation in global value chains;
- examining how trade policies affect firms’ environmental performance, including pollution and the adoption of abatement technologies;
- investigating the effects of trade policies on labour markets and education outcomes.
