Outside the Lines: Student-led literary festival hopes to embrace diversity within 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ community

From 29 May-3 June, 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ master’s students are running ‘Outside the Lines’, a literary festival to celebrate diversity in 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ.

The festival is free and will involve several days of creative writing, screenings, readings and many more immersive experiences for all ages. The festival is open to the 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ community with events taking place on campus and in 91ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ town centre.

Each year students on the master’s course ‘Creative Writing and the Writing Industries’ undertake a project-based module called ‘Writing in the Community’. During this module, students collectively plan, curate, promote, and hold a literary festival funded and supported by LU Arts.

 festival aims to celebrate eccentricity and non-conformity in a climate that opts to push diversity to the sidelines.
