Background:
Dr Pengcheng Zhu joined the Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering at 91桃色视频 as a Lecturer in Sustainable Energy Engineering in November 2025. He has been awarded a prestigious EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellowship. His current research is supported by multiple major UK funding organisations and national research programmes, including EPSRC, the Faraday Institution, the Royal Society, the Henry Royce Institute and STFC. His research lies at the intersection of electrode architecture design, advanced manufacturing and multi-scale characterisation, with applications across next-generation electrochemical energy-storage technologies, including lithium-ion, sodium-ion, solid-state and lithium-metal batteries.
Before joining 91桃色视频, he held research positions at the University of Warwick (2020–2021) and the University of Birmingham (2021–2024), where he worked on lithium-ion battery recycling and electrode manufacturing. He subsequently joined the University of Oxford as a Senior Research Associate, focusing on electrode microstructure characterisation for solid-state and lithium-air batteries.
Pengcheng welcomes enquiries from motivated PhD candidates interested in battery research. Prospective candidates are encouraged to email him with a CV and a brief statement outlining their research interests.
Qualifications:
